Nike Romaleos 4
A rigid, dual-strap platform for lifters prioritizing a locked-down base.
COMPARISON GUIDE
Compare Nike Romaleos 4 with adidas Adipower 3 through verified platform details, strap placement and lifting fit.
Both are specialized raised-heel lifters. Romaleos 4 uses adjustable midfoot straps; Adipower 3 combines laces with a single instep strap and publishes a 22 mm heel lift. Neither wins universally: compare the actual upper fit and position rather than matching brand reputations.
adidas distinguishes the Adipower 3’s rear stack from its heel lift. Nike’s cited Romaleos page describes a heel-lift platform without providing a directly comparable numerical figure. This guide therefore does not invent a millimeter advantage from photographs or measurements of the outside shoe.
A small reported difference would still need context: shoe size, internal construction and measurement method can affect the comparison. The important trial is how the complete shoe positions you during the intended lift.
Romaleos offers more than one strap adjustment point, while Adipower uses an instep strap with laces. More straps do not inherently mean a better fit. Check whether you can secure the heel while leaving the forefoot comfortable, and whether an edge presses when you bend into your lifting position.
Try both on each foot if possible. One foot may reveal an instep or width problem that the other does not. Do not use extreme tension to hide excess length or choose a cramped size merely because it feels more locked in.
These models are intended to provide a stable lifting construction, not to compete for walking softness. Evaluate a light squat and the positions relevant to your training. If you need a shoe for running intervals or an extended circuit, a separate trainer addresses a different requirement.
Consider the time available before a meet or important session. Even when replacing another raised-heel shoe, leave room to establish sizing and get familiar with the new platform.
Choose Romaleos if its fit and adjustment work better for you; choose Adipower if its shape and position are the more comfortable match. When both perform the task well, seller terms and cost can settle the choice. Neither shoe’s specification demonstrates a guaranteed increase in the weight you can lift.
