Begin with the pulling setup

SABO describes the Deadlift Pro around a thin, flat sole and two straps. MANUEKLEAR also offers a distinct deadlift-shoe line, separate from its raised-heel lifting shoe. Start with these constructions when you want to compare a close-to-floor setup; the shoe still has to suit your stance and foot shape.

Check lateral hold as well as sole thickness

During a controlled setup, notice whether your foot shifts sideways or your toes grip to keep the shoe in place. A thin sole does not compensate for a loose upper. Keep any competition footwear rules separate from a retailer’s general claim that a shoe is suitable for lifting.
